The importance of a wedding video

I am often asked whether it is really worth making a wedding video and especially the ceremony, when a photographer will already be present. Then I will answer clearly: yes yes and yes !

If you can afford to film your big day, the videographer's position is complementary to that of the photographer. In fact, I often talk about it with the couples I accompany, and many of them tell me, after their marriage, that they regret not having planned it.

I think a lot of people still have this image of wedding videos a bit corny and amateurs of the time when everything was very "raw", long, with poor image quality and where one could hear Uncle Roger telling his impressions in a background sound.

The current videos have nothing to do with this: you can discover the day of the wedding in a fluid, uncluttered way, with the highlights, a nice soundtrack and full of tenderness and emotion.

Of course, hiring a videographer is a budget, but I will explain why you should take it into account when you first prepare.

Because on the day of the wedding, everything goes very (too) fast !

I'm sure you've heard this before and you'll hear it again: a wedding day is like a flash. I even have a tendency to say that on that day, it seems that someone is having fun turning the hands of the watch to advance time.

Some married couples confess to me that they do not necessarily manage to remember the discourse of the secular ceremony as they were so confused by the exaltation. It is difficult in these cases to make the most of every moment, especially between a certain stress and the various emotions to be managed. A video will allow you to relive all these moments quietly and perhaps even to rethink some forgotten moments.

Because marriage is a crazy investment

In time, money, preparation…Are there other days in your life that you will be so involved in? Especially when you decide to embark on the development of a secular ceremony. It is so personalized, with the interventions of your loved ones, the exchange of your consents and all those small details that make it a unique and magical moment of emotion… It would be too bad not to immortalize this with a film that will offer you the opportunity to see and review each stage of your big day as a story, in motion.

But we will already have beautiful photos, so why a video ?

Because photos are static. What I am saying is absolutely not pejorative, quite the contrary I am a great fan of wedding photography. I wrote an article a few months ago about the importance of the wedding photographer. As mentioned earlier, the photo and video are two elements that complement each other perfectly. With a video, you will have a more "dynamic" vision of the day and especially of people living the moment at your side. I am thinking in particular of the grandparents or the people you rarely see and whose memories are precious. The photos will allow you to trace all the small details like a report, which you can keep on a timeless paper.

In summary

The happiest day of your fast-paced life, the number of hours and the price you've put into it, the desire to remember certain moments, of you and your loved ones on the move, are all reasons that make it so, Marriage video has become an element to consider as much as others that seem indispensable. Photo or video, one does not replace the other and will allow you to keep a complete memory of this extraordinary day.
